Most of us have got some kind of bucket list. Yours may be written down or saved to a blog, or it might just be some vague ideas of things that you’d like to do in your lifetime, or before you reach a certain age. For many of us, some of the things on our bucket list are travel goals. There are places that we’d love to see, or that we’ve always dreamt of going. You might want to take part in specific challenges, so you need to travel, or you may want to live in a different country for an extended period.
Travel is so popular because, for many of us, it’s a dream. Travel takes us away from the stresses of everyday life; it exposes us to different worlds and keeps our own worries in perspective. Every time you travel, you see something new, and you change slightly. It’s wonderful. But, with so many places to choose from, it might be hard to pick a specific location. Instead, here are some of the kinds of trips that you should consider.
A Charity Challenge
Charity travel challenges, like trekking up Kilimanjaro for charity, for instance, are great. They give you a chance to really push yourself, to meet new people, to challenge your body and your mind, to have a once in a lifetime experience, and to raise some money for a good cause at the same time. If we all did one challenge like this, the world might be a better place.
Seeing More of Your Home Country
So few of us manage to see everything that our home country has to offer. We see the town that we live in and the surrounding areas, and we might go on an occasional trip to favourite cities or beaches. But, for our big holidays, we try to see more of the world. This can mean that you miss out. Add a trip around your home country to your travel bucket list.
Something Physically Demanding
Not all trips are relaxing. Climbing a mountain, tackling a big trek, learning how to ski or surf, or taking part in a race on the other side of the world can all be both challenging and exhilarating.
The City of Your Dreams (Or the Movies)
Is there a city that you’ve always wanted to see? Or a location in a movie that you think looks wonderful? Most of us have one dream city that we’d love to see before we die. Add it to your list.
A Culinary Experience
For many of us, food is a big part of travel. If you love trying new foods, learning how to cook local delicacies, or experimenting with new flavours, why not go o a culinary break? A food tour, or just a trip to one of the most famous culinary spots around the world. You could even book cooking classes or tickets to food shows around the world.
A Restful Beach Break
How about a week on a tropical island? Or somewhere really remote and quiet? A proper luxury beach break? It’s something that we should all do at least once.
Have you thought about taking the kids to Thailand, for example?
