We’ve seen some really lovely personalised books for children recently: the brilliant bedtime story of Matthew and the Shnugglefluffle; the popular Lost My Name, which is a story according to the letters of your child’s name; and of course the lovely Amazing Pages. The ordering process is astonishingly easy. You simply input the recipient’s name, date of birth and your own name, and bam! the book is previewed in front of you.

I ordered a Christmas book, but to be honest, it makes a better birthday book, because most of the pages are about what happened in the world around the day you were born.

There are pages you can personalise – for example this page originally said “Thank you for being you” and there is a drop down menu to choose some pre-written alternatives, or a blank box to input your own.
