Today we wandered to the sea front in Whitley Bay, hoping for a dig in the sand. On Tuesday, James wanted to dig in the sand at Artventurers, but instead he had a great time playing with foam! However, when we actually got to the sea front, James changed his mind and said that he didn’t want to take his rake and spade to the beach.
So, we took the Scuttlebug out for a run along the promenade. James loves the Scuttlebug, even though it is slightly too small for him. We have a balance bike ready to use, but that is slightly too big for him.
The waves were crashing on the beach, and something of the waves reminded James of Mexico, and he asked if we had any bread to go and feed the fishes with. Nope, and I’m not hopping in that cold water to feed any fish, even if I did have bread!! James really enjoyed just watching the waves for a while.
James wore his wellies so he could splash in the puddles. The first puddle he jumped in surprised him, for some reason. He complained almost immediately that his wellies were wet, and looked around for a cloth to wipe them! He soon got in the spirit of puddle jumping, though, and then began to drive the Scuttlebug through some mud/sand so he could then wash it off in the deeper puddles.
I live near the seafront! We walk there almost everyday (wind permits) for our school run and I so love that its just us and some few other people who like us loves walking in there no matter what the weather is.
Looks like a fun place to spend Saturday with =) #countrykids
What a great school run route!
I love the photo of James watching the waves, it looks like he’s had a lovely time puddle jumping (even if it did take a bit of persuading to start with). Thanks for linking up with Country Kids.
Haha, he’s a funny one. He loves cleaning and has been known to ask for a cloth to wipe up as he’s falling asleep!
These photos are beautiful! He looks like he had such a fab time! Even though it is wet and cold at this time of the year there’s still plenty of opportunity to get wellies and hats on and go for a walk! Lovely post. Jess x Thanks for linking it to #sundaystars
Thank you. The weather is lovely this time of year; I love cosy warm coats when the air is a bit nippy.
We headed for the coast for our elder son’s birthday last weekend, and although my husband thought I was bonkers (it was mid-November, after all), it was great. I love the seaside no matter what the weather. It blows out the cobwebs and clears the mind. We will take our Scuttlebug next time – great idea! I also love his leggings/tights. Looks like he had a great time in the puddles.
Thank you; I love those leggings too. They have a picture of the cow jumping over the moon on the back!
We love the beach and are very lucky to live so close by. We’ve been taking James for walks along the seaside since he was one day old.
I would love to live go the sea… Maybe we will one day soon! James looks so happy in those pics. Keep enjoying! 🙂
We love getting out to the sea front even if just for half an hour. We are lucky its only a ten minute walk. Lovely photos. #sundaystars
Bless him. He looks like a champion puddle splasher already 🙂
That little trike is so cute. Looks like a lovely day for some outdoor play. Thanks for sharing at the Outdoor Play Party.
We did this walk just after Christmas – it’s one of my favourites as plenty of space to ride bikes and scooters. I let my older children ride to the next shelter and then wait for me which is great as they are always in eyesight. Thanks for linking to #LoveNorthEast
I live near here and can highly recommend the place! Its just great, and soon to get even better as there are regeneration plans afoot!
