I am so excited to be able to share this one with you – I was sent a limited edition EasiYo yoghurt maker for the purposes of this review!
When I was a child, my dad worked in the local yoghurt factory, and he regularly brought home trays and trays of yummy yoghurt from the factory shop. I grew up on yoghurt. You’d think it might be possible to rebel against all that yoghurt and grow to dislike it, but that didn’t happen, as there are so many different flavours and types of yoghurts to keep the interest high.
So, when I was offered the new pink limited edition EasiYo yoghurt maker to try at home, I absolutely jumped at the chance. My boys love yoghurt and our fridge usually has some kind of yoghurt inside, and most days we enjoy a pot each. The EasiYo yoghurt maker came with two sachets to make yoghurt with – apricot and blueberries and cream. Apricot is James’ all-time favourite yoghurt flavour, so that was the first one we tried to make.
The yoghurt maker comes in a few parts: the outer (in this case pink) tub, which is essentially a large flask; a red stand that goes inside the pink tub; and a lidded pot, which you use to put the yoghurt inside.
The first thing you need to do, when using the yoghurt maker, is half-fill the pot with tepid water. Then you put the content of the sachet inside and shake, shake, shake. That was James’ job, while Noah danced about shaking himself from side to side. Top up the pot with more water, shake again, and boil the kettle. The boiling water goes inside the pink tub, up to the top of the red stand. Then you simply place the pot inside and seal the lid. Now, you go and play, get on with your day, and go to bed. You have to leave the EasiYo yoghurt maker to do its thing for at least 8 hours or up to 24, depending on how tart you want your yoghurt.
When the time is up, you simply remove the pot from the tub and place it in the fridge to cool down. Pour the water away and wipe the inside of the tub with kitchen paper. That’s it!
I’ve really enjoyed the yoghurt we’ve made in the EasiYo yoghurt maker, and it’s so simple to use. On Friday James asked me, “Mum, will you make some yoghurt while I’m at preschool, please?” and unfortunately I had to say no, because we’ve run out of sachets, but you can tell that the EasiYo yoghurt is yummy by that little request!
